    Pregnancy Massage Clinic

    Every Thursday morning, I offer an opportunity for pregnant women to receive bodywork at a more affordable rate.  I offer a one hour Thai Massage treatment on sliding scale of $20-$60.  The sliding scale means that you pay what you can afford.  Please call to make your appointment.

    Pregnancy Massage

    Massage is just the thing to calm your nerves, help your adjusting structure to balance and relax, and help you to connect deeply with your body, and your baby. Massage can help with swelling, shortness of breath low back pain, sciatica, and many other pregnancy related symptoms.  Massage is safe for all phases of pregnancy, with certain precautions.  Your therapist has a BodyCushion, which will allow you to rest on the table face down, as long as this is comfortable.  Much or all of your massage can be done in a side lying position, or in a reclining seated position.

                                        Thai Massage
      The nature of Thai massage is to move the body, take the joints through their range of motion and apply pressure to energy lines and points of tension.  Since you are clothed, there is no time spent with sheets and coverings, and every area of the body is easily accessible. This massage is deeply relaxing and therapeutic, and I have had great results working with sciatica, hip pain, shoulder and neck tension, and many other complaints that can come along with pregnancy.

                    Swedish Massage
    The soothing flowing strokes and oils used in Swedish massage deeply penetrate your tissues to allow for deep release.  Your therapist has a Body Cushion, so that you can lie face down for part of your massage.   This is a wonderful, sensual experience which can help relieve some of the discomforts of pregnancy and prepare your body to relax into labor.
